Founded by the Maryknoll Sisters in 1961, Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital became one of the public hospitals under the governance of the Hospital Authority in 1991 with 236 beds at present. As a Catholic hospital, the services not only cater to the physical, but also the psychological and spiritual needs of the patients.

The Hospital Board continued to run the non-subvented services including the Pastoral Ministry and Dental Surgery since then. In 2004, the Board collaborated with the Hospital Authority in setting up a low cost private “Community Specialty Clinic“ under the public private partnership program. In 2021, our Community Specialty Clinic has been registered as a “Day Procedure Center” in providing a wide range of services including specialty consultation, minor operations and endoscopic examination.
